PROFILE
Sal was admitted to practice law in New York in 1994, beginning his legal career in a small, Manhattan litigation firm. He moved to Tucson in 1996 and was admitted to the Arizona State Bar in 1997. In Tucson, Sal has worked as an associate in a ten-lawyer firm, an Assistant Attorney General representing Child Protective Services and the State of Arizona against medical malpractice lawsuits, a solo practitioner and finally, as a founding partner in Nuccio & Shirly, P.C. in 2006.
Sal has been recognized by the Pima County Bar Association with its Pro Bono Attorney of the Month Award and Bar Service Award. He has served as Tucson High School's Mock Trial Coach and as Judge at the University of Arizona's Mock Trial Competition.
In 2020, Sal was nominated as Attorney of the Year by Pima County Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children Program (“CASA”), for his advocacy skills demonstrated for the benefit of abused and neglected children in Pima County.
Sal is married to Jeanne Shirly. They have three children; one is a proud graduate of the University of Arizona, another attends Northern Arizona University and the youngest is a student at Tucson High School.
